mission trip opportunities
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
Come to the light on the Hill in Juarez, let your light shine with us as we warm, feed, clothe, and teach the little ones of God’s love for them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.
Join us as we seek to raise up the next generation in Mexico for Christ. Let your sons and daughters who come to labor with you also catch the fire of God’s love and boldly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus—all to the glory of God!
God has blessed each of us with unique skills and resources that we can use to serve Him through one of LACCF project partners.

Testimonials

When I was in high school, my Youth Director invited me to participate in a “short term” mission trip to Juarez, Mexico. That visit to a big yellow house on a hill changed my life. More than 30 years later, it is an honor to call the team at Emmanuel Children’s Home partners and friends.
You can only learn so much from a website, video, or brochure. Across the street from that big yellow house is a smaller white one. Around the Lopez kitchen table, I got to know a remarkable family. We’ve prayed together, laughed together, and cried together. Their commitment to these kids is inspirational and the scope of their ministry is astounding.
For more than 50 years, Emmanuel has served as an oasis of hope in a deeply troubled city. The Home provides holistic care, quality education, and enrichment opportunities in a Christ-centered environment. I’ve heard the laughter that fills those walls with my own ears and seen the loving care that each individual receives with my own eyes. I’m not alone. Countless lives on both sides of the border (and around the globe) have been transformed through their exceptional work. I can’t endorse the Home enough! In fact, when my wife and I founded our church about a decade ago, we named it after the ministry that changed my life forever.

I have had the privilege of calling Emmanuel Ministries my family for over 10 years! As Executive Director of Ace in the City, part of our work has involved leading trips to Emmanuel, having led over 25 trips since 2009!
While we believe our work and the ways in which we partner alongside Emmanuel is good and purposeful for the Home, we also recognize the partnership is mutually beneficial and has had a transformative impact on my life and the lives of those who have visited the home with me over the last decade. I have grown in my understanding of God and developed a stronger sense of self. My joy has hit new heights. I am asking better questions which is leading me closer to bigger, bolder, richer answers. My definition of family is growing, and I believe the kingdom of God explodes in marvelous ways as it does.
Investment in the Home is a holistic investment, not only in the lives of some amazing kids and staff on a little hill in Juarez, but an investment in you, your loved ones, friends, and church!

A joyful part of being a professor at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma was the opportunity to lead mission teams of students during school breaks. On one such trip we were assigned to go to Hogar de Niños Emmanuel. I fell in love with the place on my first visit, and after a couple of years I joined their Board of Directors. I served on the Board for 30 years, with the last several years of that time acting as the Board secretary. I took teams from my church as well, and traveled frequently to other U. S. churches to talk about the mission and to work to get those churches to make mission trips to Juarez. I have never ceased to marvel at the steadfastness of the Lopez family over the years as they endured great struggles and great victories. I met Betel when she was a small child, and with immense joy I have seen her turn into a mighty servant of the Lord as she works to bring love and hope to new generations of beautiful children in the City of Juarez. If the Lord impresses you to become a part of the mission either through your prayers, your donations, or your personal visits, you will also experience the CHANGE that came over my life because of my involvement — knowing what TRUE RELIGION is — as defined by the Bible itself.

My name is Rod Rieger, and I am a senior minister in Oklahoma. My wife and I got involved with a group of concerned Christians called Operation CARE almost 30 years ago. This group saw the needs in Mexico where there isn’t any state or federal aid as we have in the United States. God laid it on our hearts to be a part of this yearly mission trip, and Emmanuel Ministries has always been a part of our mission. From purchasing and delivering commodities, to interacting with the children, to just encouraging the staff, our visits to Emmanuel have been uplifting for us also. We see the continued progress and young lives that are being fed physically and also spiritually as they are introduced to Jesus. We thank God for these committed, dedicated servants, and we are thankful to be a small part of helping in this vital ministry!
